About
In Réunion Creole, “kozé” means “to speak, to communicate.” The group’s goal is to share the folklore of their island. 100% Maloya, with its roulèr, kayamb, pikèr, and sati that set the tempo, the music of Kozé—winner of the 2025 Bronze Syli Award for World Music—is as wild and refreshing as the ocean, as dense and precious as the forest, and as rugged and impetuous as the volcano. Listed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2009, a hybrid legacy of the slaves of the past that has become an anthem of protest, Maloya—whose aura is almost sacred—is a song, a music, a dance… an identity.
The activity takes place in all weather conditions, unless safety is compromised
