About

In the relaxed setting of a happy hour, five artists will discuss their writing practices, the place of works by Asian authors in the literary landscape of Quebec and beyond, the relationship between memory and writing, diaspora and personal narrative, as well as their perceptions of the role of literature. This group discussion is shaped by their individual perspectives: must we perform our identities, no matter the cost?
Through readings of excerpts and open discussions, Dédé Chen (poetry and film), Eang-Nay Theam (poetry), Murielle Chan-Chu (fragment), Philippe Yong (novel), and Tamara Nguyen (theater) will share their works and then engage with the audience during a Q&A and discussion session.
